![]() ![]() With the hardware upgrade, we are planning to move client sites internal and get rid of the 3rd party hosting services currently in use. We are replacing the above with some Ubiquiti hardware this week, EdgeRouter PoE 5 Port, a Unifi Switch with 8 ports and a wireless AP. A hold over from the days when we were not hosting any client sites internally. What recommendations on VLAN setup, or another option, would the community have for meeting the above use case?įair enough on the hardware concerns. I have tried enabling the VLAN setup on the R8500, but immediately lose internet and the R8500 VLAN seems really to just support IPTV or other similar services, and not setup multiple VLAN(s) for business use. ![]() The R8500 allows for priority of connections in their Dynamic QoS, but with the number of services and connections on the network, which currently just uses the ports available on the router (Xfinity modem converted to bridge mode), I can see potential loss in performance and an increase in management time to continue meeting the requirements of clients as we expand. It's very important that these servers maintain a high QoS, as they are generally public facing. Internally, we host two to three physical servers with ESXi 6/6.5 loaded onto each with multiple VM(s) running different services or acting as dev sites for clients. This team also connects to a number of servers outside our office and internally to complete production of projects. ![]() ![]() We have 5-6 individuals in the office day in day out, who produce graphics, videos and development sites for clients, utilizing FTP, Email and SSH connections regularly. I am trying to setup a set of networks for our small business that supports multiple uses with a single ISP connection of 200mbps Up/Down (CenturyLink, but current stuck with Xfinity). ![]()
